What Causes Small Bumps And Cracks On Penis Head?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Jun 2015
Question: I have small bumps and cracks in my penis head. This is 100% not an std. It started out as an abrasion from sexual intercourse. It turned red and ultimately infected my prostate. Every test they ran was negative for an std which i told them it would be. Was put on 21 days of levaquin which made me sicker than a dog. I ended up with a minor case of thrush. Prostate is still sore hoping the levaquin took care of any infection. Now I still have these bumps and crack in penis. Told by doctors it was nothing. However, just convinced my medical doc to give me some antifungal meds. He put me on the generic brand of lamisil tablets for two weeks. 250 mg. I tried some antifungal topicals for a few days before with zero luck. Wondering if it had to do with the antibiotics. Just started using miconazole cream today. My question is lamisil tablets effective for yeast infection and will this two step process take care of what is going on.

This is not an STD. Had blood test done for herpes, HIV, and everything. With the same woman for 20 years. This is not an std. I am not a diabetic. There are NO open lesions and there is no discharge. These are very tiny bumps and cracks in head of penis, top portion only where injured penis initially. The intitial round of antibiotics appeared to take care of the redness.

I already took levaquin for 3 weeks. Would that have not killed any bacterial infection?

My question is does this appear to be a fungal infection and will the lamisil tablets and miconazole take care of it?

Brief Answer:
Need to do swab est to confirm fungal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up and feedback.

Fungal infection has to be confirmed by Swab test of a fluid (secretion ) from the lesion .

Taking Levaquin may not necessarily cure infection bacteria are resistant to Livaquin.Hence doing a culture of secretion is the proper way to find out sensitivity pattern of organisms so that one can take appropriate antibiotic to combat infection rather than taking antibiotics for months together
.
Take treatment suggested in my reply earlier and switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report..

Thanks and Regards.

Sorry, but there are no lesions. Cracking with lines. Several small bumps that are so microscopic and hard to see. Does that make things more clear. Appearance is cracks and lines in head of penis. Only when you look very close and you see what appears to very tiny bumps barely visible to the human eye. My general practitioner said this does not appear to him to be bacterial. I feel like i have to push to get someone to look at this. The only way to get a sample from what I am seeing would be to do a biopsy since there is nothing to swab. Sorry if I didnt make that clear.

Does this sound fungal in nature and if so would the miconazole and lamisil tablets take care of it?

It is very difficult to make precise comments only on statements .It is better to consult qualified Dermatologist for clinical examination and inspection of the genitals in person to establish a proper diagnosis and take appropriate treatment .
