What Causes Small Bumps On Right Thumb?

default
Posted on Thu, 23 Apr 2015
Question: Last month I got a small white almost invisible splint from a cactus on my right thumb. My friend pulled it out and we went on with our day. But for the next days it was bothering me so my hubby tried to see if there was anything but couldn't see. The pain and discomfort had stopped. Now weeks have passed, and now I am developing a very small bump and it hurts a bit. Could it be that half of it is still inside? Or? the small bumps looks a bit glossy. Thanks for your help!

Brief Answer:
Most probably yes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read and understood what has happened.
The development of a small blistery (small bump looks glossy) after weeks of the original incidence, if at the same spot is most probably due to the remaining foreign body (FB - splint from cactus).

It is possible that it may open up on its own and the FB extruded or may have to be removed.

I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Let us wait for a few days.

Detailed Answer:
I think it is better to wait for few more days to see the changes and then decide. Till then try to neglect it. Please do not fondle with it.
