What Causes Small Lump Just Below Hairline?

Question: Hi, I noticed a small lump, about the size of a nickel, just below my hairline and on my forehead above my left eye. One day about six months ago I noticed it. I don't think it is growing, it does not have any pain, it is semi soft and it is moveable. There is no discoloration and it seems to be just below the skin surface and between the skull and skin. I don't think it is round, more like oval shaped and raised about 1/8 of an inch. Is this something that I should be worried about. Naturally one thinks of cancer right away. I am a 56 year old male, good health, 30 lbs over weight but otherwise in excellent health. Thank you.

I have gone through your complaints and according to me it seems to be some benign cystic lesion like epidermoid cyst or a lipoma.

As its not growing so chances of cancer are very feeble.

I would recommend you to consult a doctor and get it examined clinically as well as go for fine needle aspiration cytology ( FNAC ) test to find out what it is exactly.
