Posted on Mon, 20 Apr 2015
Question: Hi I just had urine a little while ago and I found that it has got very very tiny particles in it, something as if you would be drinking lime juice (the small particles that it has) the color is a light pale yellow but quite frequently I do get XXXXXXX colored urine. Kindly please give some thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It looks like you are suffering from urinary tract infection and what you see are urinary sediments. One other possibility is urinary stones, sometimes stones pass off in the urine in the same way.
Here is how you should go about it

1. Give your urine for testing. Ask for urine routine.
2. If urine routine shows pus cells, it is infection which will require treatment with antibiotics.
3.If the urine shows crystals then there might be kidney stones which might require treatment

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards

Thank you Dr for your time in responding to my question. I had a urine test last month ie., Feb-end and my family doctor told me there was nothing abnormal. I shall try calling them again tomorrow. Could one month be enough for this to trigger? If I have been having UTI from a long time and it has been undetected how could one assess if kidneys are affected? Or would they be?
