Brief Answer:
reasons of failure of jock itch treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
your description of the condition is classical for tinea cruris or jock itch as you mentioned. There may be many reasons why the jock itch remedy did not work for you. Here are some reasons.

1.Prevention of tinea cruris infection is an important component of disease management. Usually they have concurrent fungal infection of the hands and feet.
You need to treat all concurrent areas of active fungal infection at the same time. Please put on your socks prior to wearing undershorts to reduce possibility of contamination. Completely dry your groin area after bathing and use separate towel for groin area and other parts of the body. If you are obese, you may start thinking about losing your weight.
2. You may have used only the topical form of antifungal. For extensive and resistant infections, topical form of antifungal along with a systemic form of antifungal is to be used.
3. You may not have used the cream for adequate time which is to be used two times a day for 3 weeks. Stopping the use of the cream before that can result in the failure of the treatment.
At this point I would recommend you I would advise you using over the counter
topical terbanifine or clotrimazole and oral itraconazole for 3 weeks.
Hope these measures will help eradicate jock itch. Thank you
