What Causes Small Pea Sized Lump On Lower Left Side Of Neck?

Question: Small pea shaped lump on lower left side of my neck . Painless possible cartilage ?
Brief Answer:
Most probably a lymph node.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. This lump is more likely to be a lymph node. There are about 300 lymph nodes normally present in the head and neck region.
2. A pea sized or sub-centimetre lymph node is usually considered as a reactive node.
3. If there are symptoms, or if the node persists or is increasing in size, get a neck examination, Neck USG (Ultrasound) and an FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) done to settle the diagnosis.
4. Otherwise only observation is required.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
