What Causes Small Purple Bump On My Meatus After Having Sex With Herpes Infected Person?

Question: I had sex with a girl who had herpes and the condom broke back in October. Since then I have had a small purple bump on the left part of my meatus. Some days it gives me a burning, tingling sensation and some days it does not. She said she got her HPV shot so I guess it couldn't be that but is it herpes? From what I saw online Herpes break outs come and go this has been there for a while and is more bothersome with the use of my penis while having sex. I was given oral by the same girl a few weeks after back in October so if it were herpes wouldnt she have broken out on or in her mouth?

Hello and thank you for your question.
I have read your note and looked at the photos. It does not sound or look like herpes. Herpes is not transmitted every time you have an exposure and if you had contracted herpes you would have broken out with blisters that were very painful. They would have gone away and then may have come back periodically. The spot on your penis, the purple bump looks like a cyst or dilated gland, it does not look like anything infectious. It would not hurt you to be tested for sexually transmitted infections just to be sure but I think it is very unlikely to be herpes. If the girl has genital herpes then she may not have gotten it in her mouth if she had oral sex with someone with genital herpes.

Thank you for your insight! I will still get it checked out and tested I was just curious And did not want to wait for my appointment. If it is what you say it is, are there any perscriptions my doctor will be able to give me to treat it. Some days it is very bothersome and I hope there is a fix. What typically causes those issues? Hello and thank you for your follow up. The treatment really depends upon what the doctor thinks is going on when they do an exam on your and some testing. It does not look like anything serious. If it is a blocked duct or cyst the doctor may need to removed it or open and drain it, but again I can't be sure until you get a firm diagnosis.

Thank you for the information. It is usually just a purple spot inside my meatus. It will tingle throughout the day but stay a small bump if bump is even the word for it. It only raises when I have sex or during masturbation. I have looked up meatal cysts and couldnt really compare that issue to mine. If you look in one of the pictures I attached, you can see there is a small vein like line partially showing on my penis head along with a blotch next to it. Does that help your decision on what it can be? My appointment is on Monday I am just trying to get as close of an idea to what it is as possible so I can research the correct thing to learn more about it. Thank you again.
