Posted on Mon, 30 Jun 2014
Question: A few days ago I noticed a little scab had develop at the entrance of my penis and now when I urinate it comes out all fizzily instead of straight. I do have herpes and had been feeling like I was beginning to have an outbreak when after several days I noticed the scab. I'm not sure though ever recalling an outbreak of herpes being like this, maybe I recall something like this being other std related? Please assist.

Brief Answer:
Have you had any risky sexual encounters recently?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

From the information you have provided, I strongly suspect that this is probably related to the documented herpes that you have reported. With an inflammation and scabbing at the urethral opening, this will tend to cause the urine to flow out in no defined direction and may even produce multiple urine streams. This will stop as the herpes outbreak subsides.

I have no reasons to suspect other STDs at this .No STDs is specific to producing the symptoms you have reported. They can be caused by herpes as well as other STDs but, because you already have a documented herpes, there is no need to go searching further. Should you report continued unprotected sexual encounters, then I will have reasons to suspect that other possible infections could be the cause. For now, I am not going down that route. If you have reasons for me to do so, please do let me know.

In all, probably related to herpes. But should you report unprotected risky sexual encounters, I will investigate for other possible causes. These symptoms would resolve progressively.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Get tested !

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for your sincerity.

With this added information, I will like that you get a comprehensive screening for sexually transmitted infections. This will tell us if there is something more we should be looking at or it is all limited too the herpes. Other common cause include chlamydia and gonorrhea. Remember, every unprotected intercourse exposes you serious and concerning infections including HIV and hepatitis.

Please, always consider using protection during intercourse. Correct use and consistent use are very capital for excellent results!

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Let me know what the results of your testing turn out to be.
