Question : I have a 4yr old complaining of mouth pain.. no fever.. she has been sniffling and sneezing.. but nothing more. I can see with looks like a small ref mark on the back of her tongue. But cant see much else..

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting on healthcaremagic. From the details that you have provided it seems that your child is suffering from common cold but there is a possibility that it could be a pain due to teething. Unless I can examine it, it is not possible to assess if there is redness of throat which would indicate an infection. Such an infection, be it viral or bacterial, takes 5-7 days to heal irrespective of use of antibiotics. If I had a patient like her, I would suggest giving her gurgle with lukewarm water. Steam inhalation twice a day. No antibiotics needed. You can use some anti allergic like levocetirizine and that will also relive the sneezing.
