Question : I had some discharge from my penis and a slight itching; After taking anti-biotics and receiving a shot at the ER my symptoms have reduced drastically. However, my test results came back negative for both chlamydia and gonorrhea. Could these results be wrong? And if not what could it be?

Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
It is not clear about inter course history, duration of discharge, type color symptoms of discharge,antibiotic treatment given,any other symptoms, partner history, other investigation done,other disease if any etc.
It is good if the tests are negative for chlamydia and gonococci.
It may be fungal infection or UTI or else

Thank you for responding to my question; I'll try and fill in as many blanks as possible. The discharge was going on for about 4 days but stopped several days after taking the antibiotics; however it has returned today. The last time I had unprotected sex was about 4 to 5 months ago. The discharge is white. However I failed to mention previously that I have been diagnosed with epididymitis a few months ago. I have had a UTI before and this doesn't feel anything like that. I am experiencing pain in my testicle as well as pain when ejaculating. I have scheduled an appointment with a urologist but the appointment is for next Thursday. Thank you

I have gone through your history .
With given details it is likely that it may be epididymitis. As there is pain in the scrotum and discharge.you will need examination by your doctor for diagnosis .
You can use cold packs in scrotum,do scrotal elevation, take analgesic, you may need antibiotics and avoid inter course.
