Question : I have a sore tongue with a reddened stripe down the middle. I do run my tongue around my mouth a lot either from nerves or the result of using antipsychotics. it is difficult and painful to eat.

I have had it for two months . it is painful I have chronic diarrhea. I have joint pain all over my body and my eyes have been red with a dry feeling requiring moisture drops. it does have times where it is more painful. I don't eat regular meals but I do it healthy with no junk food or sugary stinks

Brief Answer: Detail Follows. Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. Chronic Diarrhea can cause such problems due to dietary or chronic loss of micronutrients. However, i feel you should get an evaluation done. I advise following investigations in such cases: 1. Hemogram with ESR. 2. LFT 3. KFT 4. Fasting Blood sugar 5. Vitamin B12 Levels. 6. Stool Examination 7. HIV 8. ANA. Till then you should take following: 1. Tab Zincovit once a day 2. Dologel Locally thrice a day 3. Betadine gargles twice - thrice a day. thank you for your detailed response. I have not had a LFT or KFT test done in a while. my MD never checks my b12. I no longer work with surgical instruments or needles so I don't believe I would have HIV unless it takes years to manifest. I will discuss the Ana and hemogram with him as well. this really has given me an avenue to explore as no one was offering a plan besides probiotics.

Brief Answer: Get tested Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. I would suggest you to get HIV , KFT , LFT also irrespective of no suggestive history. Recurring oral ulcers and chronic diarrhea warrants testing for HIV. I am not saying that you have it, but I don't see any harm in getting it confirmed. Because its always better to be sure.
