Posted on Wed, 20 Apr 2016
Question: I have a lump under my chin on my neck that comes & goes along with a sore throat. From experience I know this may be a sign of leukemia. Is it time to get a blood test. I've been experiencing this about six months. I don't have a cell phone. Home number 0000

Brief Answer:
This is not leukemia or lymphoma sign.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Leukemia does not appear and disappear by itself. It is rather constantly going forward disease. And lymph nodes enlargement is more characteristic for lymphoma than leukemia.
However, the most common reason of such symptoms is not leukemia or lymphoma, but throat/tooth/ear infection. You should have it checked first. Blood test is also a good idea, but I do not think its something serious.
If you do smoke, malignancies like larynx cancer are possible.

Please consult laryngologist first.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
