Brief Answer:
Most probably the recurrent sore throat is causing this sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. One of the most common causes for reduced taste are throat infections, and so the sore throat (recurrent) could be the cause for this symptom. But I shall either way go ahead and list all the possible causes for your reference sir:

+Flu and/or common cold
+Strep throat
+Sinusitis
+Nasal infections
+Salivary gland infection
+Pharyngitis
+Bell's palsy
+Heavy smoking
+Nasal polyps
+Nutrient deficiencies (e.g. vitamin B12, zinc)
+Dryness of mouth
+Swollen gums
+Injury or surgery to the ear
+Side effect of medications

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative sir. Please do not hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
