Question: I have a swollen sore bone in front above my ankle and have put a cold pack on it but still very sore and hard to walk on! Do I need an X-ray and if so is there anything I can do for it? It looks bruised . Was using a stair stepper for excercise

Do you have chronic pain of the ankle ?

Does the sore bone move around in front of the ankle and can you hold it and move it around ?

It is possible you have arthritis of the ankle which found be due to Gout, trauma.

Sometimes a free floating loose body can break away from the ankle joint and cause pain.

It is advisable to get an Xray. Kindly upload it for my review once you do.

Apply hot packs. Keep your limbs elevated. Drink 1-2 litres of water daily. Avoid alcohol, mutton, beef, spinach, broccoli.

Take pain killer Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days after meals. Also take Tablet Ranitidine 150mg twice a day, half an hour before food. Apply pain killer gel to the painful regions.
