Question : About a week ago I developed a sore right nipple - it seems to be hard and pointed all the time. It continues to hurt when I wear my bra or fabric brushes against it. Then, about two days ago, the right side of my right breast hurt all day. That pain has subsided somewhat. I have checked for lumps and have not felt any. I have had a hysterectomy but still have my ovaries. I do not generally get sore breasts during my cycle.

                                    Brief Answer:
due to hormone imbalance, progesterone cream is advisable.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
I can understand your concerns,
As you told that you have no lumps during breast examination and you had undergone hysterectomy with retain ovaries.
It suggests that breast tenderness is because of hormone imbalance which occured due to uterus removal.
Many women experiences sore breast after hysterectomy so you need not to take worry.
In my advise you should wear tight bra, cold compress, vitamin E and B6,progesterone cream (prescription drug). Consult your gynecologist.
Hope it helps,
Feel free to ask further,
Thanks.

Not sure if it changes your opinion but my hysterectomy was 7 years ago and i have never had this problem until now.

due to hormonal imbalance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry for late response,
In my opinion it is because of hormone imbalance.
As you told that there is no lump so chances of any kind of tumour are ruled out.still you can go for ultrasound to confirm it.
Here i want to explain you reason behind breast soreness-
if you kept your ovaries, breast tenderness can indicate that the ovaries are functioning. Estrogen levels change throughout the month, and breast tenderness can occur when estrogen levels are at their highest.
You should consult your Gynecologist.
The possible treatment options are evening primosa oil tablets, hormonal replacement and as mentioned in earlier response.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
Thanks.
