Brief Answer:
Seems to be a sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thank you for posting the query.

I can understand the pain that you may be going through due to the injury.

From the symptoms that you have mentioned,it does not seem to be major fracture of any bones in the affected region.

Jamming and soreness can be caused due to ligament sprain or a muscle / tendon strain. Either of these two causes severe pain and restricted and painful movements.

Continue using ice packs every 3 hourly. Keep the affected region splinted to avoid further painful movements.

Take analgesic , anti-inflammatory tablets for 3 days.

The pain should surely settle down.

If the symptoms aggravate or if you do not feel any improvement, then you should get a x-ray done to see for any minor injury to the bone.

At your age, the bones are weak due to osteoporosis and there are chances that there may be a hairline fracture.

I hope the answer was useful.

You can ask me any doubts that you may have.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
