Brief Answer:
It's a expected side effect of the procedure.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Pain ( sunburn like) and numbness of the treated area with radiofrequency neurotomy are expected side effects of the procedure found in majority of patients treated with it.

This is believed to happen from partially damaged nerves and lasts approximately 2 -3 weeks. ( time needed for nerve to stop functioning totally)

If the symptoms persist after two weeks, I suggest you to consult your treating Doctor and to have a reevaluation of your concerns.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions

Brief Answer:
Pain medication should help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking again.

I believe that kind of pain will go away in a couple of weeks, and as I said before it is very likely to be a side effect of the procedure.

In this time pain control drugs should help relieve your symptoms.

NSAID drugs could be a possibility if you are not alergic and there are no contradictions to use them. ( e.g. Ibuprofen)

Hope this helps. Wishing you good health.

Hi. I had an appt with my pain management today and he gave me an epidural shot (I think that's what it was) on my right lower back where it was sore from radiofrequency. . It is still sore and my foot is tingling. Is that normal? Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
needs monitoring...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking back.

In my opinion opinion it is too soon to say if symptoms you feel are normal or not after a invasive procedure.

It's expected to have some concerns after any procedure, but if the symptoms worsen instead of getting better, then there is need for further evaluation.

If the symptoms are improving with time, then that is just a minor side effect of the procedure.

I think there is need for more time to get i right opinion about your concerns.

Hope this helps.
