What Causes Sores On The Penis After Oral Sex?

Question: Risk of HIV from oral sex?
I am a female and performed oral sex on a heterosexual male one time and swallowed his ejaculate. I did not notice any sores on his penis and there were no recognizable cuts in my mouth. How big would a cut need to be to be considered a risk for transmission? The male says he is HIV negative but even if he was not, what would be the risk of contracting HIV from this one encounter of oral sex?I also now have a stuffy nose and slightly sore throat. The encounter was 20 days ago. I know this is possible with the change of seasons but could this be related to the encounter as well?

Brief Answer:
Very very unlikely!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for this query.

It is unlikely that you got infected from this: NO visible sores on his penis or your mouth and his said HIV negative status. Your symptoms are clearly not in line with acute seroconversion syndrome.

A sore throat and stuffy nose are typical of viral infection or an allergy and nothing about a possible HIV acute infection. For now, increased fluid intake, healthy diet, and regular exercise are okay. Tylenol, 650mg every 8hours for a sore throat and headache is recommended.

I hope this puts your mind to rest and eases your worries.
