What Causes Spotting While On Medroxy?

Question : I have missed my period by 20 days. I am not pregnant that I have checked.

I visted the doctor and they have advised me to wait for some time and if this doesn't come by itself then take a medicine medroxyl for 5 days and this will trigger the period.

I am taking the medicine and today is the 5th day. I have some spotting and some lumps in these 5 days but not a regular period.

Is this normal? Will I get my period after that?

So the limit 5 - 7 days is after stopping the tablet or the duration I am taking the tablet.
Today is the 6th day for tablet and last day as well.
Can you tell me when will period start?
