What Causes Stabbing Pain In Legs, Feet And Chest?
Question: what is the shooting/stabbing pain i am getting in my legs, feet and right chest wall when i have a bad panic attack.....is it still muscle spasm or contraction?
Brief Answer:
Mostly spasm
Detailed Answer:
shooting pain is usually suggestive of a nerve or spine problem. However, thus usually occurs continuously ans not just when one is anxious.
I therefore feel that the pain you have mentioned in the query must be a muscle spasm. and spasm is a prolonged contraction.
You caN try antispasmodic medicine if they are long lasting.
I think it would be prudent to consider getting an MRI OF spine with nerve conduction study.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

as my panic attacks started as chest muscle contractions......but now i get them in my lower spine (back) and upper shoulder back..
calf and foot (with really bad attacks)
what would "result" from getting an MRI of spine and nerve study done, and be the solution for the spasms apart from medication.
walking does not decrease the panic attacks...
would get other physical exercise help strengthen spine and back for decrease of panic attacks?

Brief Answer:
Need physiotherapy & behavioral therapy
Detailed Answer:
We will need to know the report of the MRI and Nerve conduction study first.
Treatment will vary according to the report.
Since you dont want tablets, the other option is physiotherapy.
And of course behavioral therapy for anxiety disorder.
Best of luck.
