What Causes Stabbing Pain In Lower Right Side Of The Hip Bone?
Question: I have like a stabbing pain in my lower right side by my hip bone around my belt line. It comes and goes. On a scale of 1-10 it sometimes gets to about 4. Is it anything I should be concerned about? I am a male 47 yrs of age. It just started about a week ago.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Stabbing pain in lower right side radiating to hip with no trauma history for one week should be evaluated for any renal colic or bowel pain. However more likely is the pain radiating from some pinched nerve, you might have lifted something heavy and that would have caused it. I would like you to get evaluated for both internal causes as well as causes of spine and musculoskeletal issues. Please take some advil, rest for a while and seek a doctor and let them run some labs to sort it out.
