Question : MY WIFE HAS A SHARP, STABBING PAIN IN HER LOWER BACK ON THE RIGHT SIDE ABOUT FIVE INCHES ABOVE HER BUTTOCKS.
Brief Answer:
Could be Sacroilitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
In my opinion that pain at this site ,about 5 inches above buttocks is, at sacroiliac joint on right side. It may have started after some sudden movement or turning or weight lifting.
I suggest pain killers , Muscle relaxants and Spinal Extension exercises.
If there is no relief in 5-7 days then we may have to get MRI of Lower spine .
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
