What Causes Sticky Skin On Neck?

Question : I have a strange symptom - sticky skin on my neck. I do not notice any stickiness anywhere else that I sweat, but only on my neck. What could it be?

It could be that you have a mild form of dermatitis or skin irritation on the neck causing the stickiness. It may also have to do with any product like lotion you use there. In any case this does not sound like a dangerous problems. I would suggest looking at any products that you use. If you have any form of rash on your neck check with your doctor to see if there is a medicine that may be helpful. Good health to you.

When I looked this condition up online, it kind of scared me because they listed about 10 SERIOUS conditions that may have sypmtoms such as sticky skin on the neck. What do you think about any of those?

I think it is a good idea for you to see your doctor and have some basic labs done. For example, checking for diabetes, kidney function and thyroid function would be good. I think this is common and usually not a cause for concern but if you are worried about it some basic lab tests would be helpful. Most of the conditions that are serious would result in this type of sweating all over, not just on your neck. Also if it were something more serious you would probably have other symptoms like fever or severe rash. Good luck and see your doctor for some tests if you are concerned, but I think you are safe and that this is not a serious problem. Good health to you.
