What Causes Stinging And Burning Feeling On Mid Back?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Jan 2015
Question: my mid-back stings and burns particularly between two bones on the right side if the vertebrae. It has mostly hurt or been focus of strain in my back for the past couple of years. I had to get my back adjusted by the chiropractor twice in those two years. The sting has gotten worse, as if two bones are pressing together in a pinch. It feels like that area has a greater tendency than the rest of my back during hard labor. Standing, lots of walking, and heavy lifting makes it worse. Stretching, laying down on a hard carpet floor, sleeping on a soft bed makes it better, though the soft bed can make the muscles tighter. I lean forward stretching my back in the morning and the burning spot pops. What might the problem be?

Brief Answer:
It is muscular pain with trigger spot.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,

After going through your query I concluded that you are having muscular pain with trigger spot as you are having burning pain at a particular spot(trigger spot) and pain is more on standing ,walking and heavy lifting and better with rest.
Its treatment is rest and analgesics such as ibuprofen. Multivitamin and trace element supplements are of help. I apply local triamcilone injections at tender spot to such persons coming to my clinic with good results. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.

You can get your vitamin D3 and vitamin B 12 test to rule out their deficiencies and can take their supplements if these are low.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Wishing you good health.
Take care.
