Brief Answer:
need to see doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is impossible to tell you what is going on with these symptoms without a physical exam and probably some blood tests.
My biggest concern is that sometimes people with diabetes have unusual presentations of heart disease like stinging or burning.
Because this sensation is from the armpits to the back it is possible that it is coming from the heart and that could be very serious.
Other risks for heart disease are high blood pressure, age over 50, being male, high cholesterol, having a family member with early heart disease and smoking. The more of these risk factors you have the more danger there is.
However, just having diabetes, even if it is controlled, is a huge risk factor for heart disease.
I suggest that you see your doctor soon and get this sorted out
