Question : Last 2 days of stomach ache in the morning as I wake up. The ailment started with what seemed to have been a stormy reaction to food poisoning eaten in a fancy gala dinner 5 nights ago. I had uncontrollable ball movements, non-stop diarrhea, and bloated vomit type symptoms (but never vomited) which tapered off a bit by now. Now I have the pain horizontally across below my sternum.

I need the answer ASAP. You should have notified that the doctor's response is not immediate. I understand and like peer reviewing of the answer, but immediacy is key to most of such enquiries online.

Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

I can very well understand your concerns about your health.

You seem to be suffering from acute colitis secondary to bacterial infection and toxins.

I would recommend the following for you

Antibacterial quinolone drug ( rules of the website prevent me from prescribing a particular drug)

Anti motility agent like Imodium

Probiotic capsules

Proton pump inhibitor

Anti emetic agent

Oral rehydrating solution three times a day.

I would sincerely recommend that you should visit a ER and have a BP check. if this is low you will need inpatient treatment with intravenous antibiotics and fluids.

You can hold onto metformin till this episode resolves.
