What Causes Stomach And Abdominal Pain Along With Nausea?

default
Posted on Sat, 31 Jan 2015
Question: I have had stomach and abdominal pain since the end of Nov. It is better but I continue to get nausea after I eat, which is not much and often only toast. I then feel bloated, and faint, not dizzy but hot, sweaty and woozy and nauseated, after eating anything. I have seen the nurse practitioner at my Drs. office. All tests came out normal and she says she does not know what else to do. What could this be? Thanks

Brief Answer:
A copy of tests reports is needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

First, let me congratulate for your general well-being (active and alert).

Now, with regards to stomach and abdominal pain associated with nausea after eating might be related to:
- gastritis/GERD: upper endoscopy advised
- cholecyst problems (sludge, inflammation/infection): abdominal ultrasound is advised

Feeling hot might be related to oscillations in blood pressure: please monitor your blood pressure and blood sugar levels at the moment you are having such problems.

You are saying that you have done all tests as mentioned in your medical history. However, I could not see any report from upper endoscopy or abdominal ultrasound. Can you send a copy of the tests you ran, so I can analyze them myself?

Where do I send the test results? I have "my chart" online from the hospital with most of my test results on it. I could send a copy of that I think. Thank you.

I forgot to mention I usually have heart palpitations with the nausea and faintness. I also have sleep apnea and shortness of breath which I am not sure if that is from the aspiration pneumonia or not. In the fall I had a cardiac XXXXXXX due to some SOB and fatigue which was thought to be heart. It was not and the XXXXXXX was normal. The cardiologist said he hopes he is as healthy as me when he is my age. So why am I sick? I have never had stomach problems before.

Brief Answer:
Can send the results at the following email

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for following up.

You can send the reports at the following email address :
YYYY@YYYY

Having stomach problems like gastritis or GERD might happen quite often during life. Foods or drinks consumed play a crucial role.

At your age, although you keep fit, the body organs will not work as you were younger. This is normal.

If I was your caring doctor would go deeper to determine the right cause and get it treated correctly.

Looking forward to have the results in!
Dr.Albana
