                                            Cold could be the reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand the concern.
Terrible taste is mouth is likely related to your cold symptom and unlikely due to stomach burning.
Cold drainage with chest congestion symptoms are due to viral infection in most of cases along with throat infection.
I will suggest you to continue using dayquil (an antihistamine and decongestant combination) with mucinex and antacid for your burning sensations in stomach.
Nebulisation with saline or bronchodilator respules (like duolin or budecort) with steam inhalation 2 to 3 times daily will be helpful for symptomatic relief from cold and chest congestion.
Warm salt water gargles or antiseptic mouth wash (chloerhexidine or listerine) frequently in a day would also be helpful.
Antibiotics are hardly required here since it is mostly due to viral infection.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr.Sandip Kabra
