Brief Answer:
Could be premestrual spotting or due to abrasion on the vagina

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. Thank you for writing to healthcare Magic with your concerns.

Since you are very close to starting your period this could just be premenstrual spotting (You might not have experienced premenstrual spotting before). It can occur due to hormonal changes.

Since urinary and vaginal infections are ruled out, the other possibility I can think of is this slight bleeding can be due to some abrasion on the vaginal mucosa.
If this keeps recurring after your periods also it is important that you have an internal examination to confirm that cervix is healthy.
I hope this helps.
If you have further concerns I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes
Dr Rama
