Question : Hello. My 6 year old son went swimming yesterday. A could hours after, he started complaining about stomach pain. It seems to come on all of a sudden, like a sharp pain. He says it hurts in the middle. He also has had fever about 101-102. Fever seems to go down with Tylenol, but back up again. It's Sunday night or I would be calling his pedatrition. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Stomach pain
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
It's possible he may have swallowed some water, or picked up some virus form someone else.
In XXXXXXX case, of the tylenol works to bring down his fever you may continue to use it every 4 hours.
Regarding the stomach pain, if the pain at any point localizes to the lower right side of the abdomen, you should take him to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Otherwise, tylenol for fever and fluids to maintain hydration are all that is necessary. If the pain persists tomorrow, I recommend consulting with your pediatrician.
