Question : getting stomache pains,headache while on Staphylex and Doxycycline. Had a wound and swelling to right foot and ankle following a waterski incident. Ankle swelling up again?? Do i go off meds? Was also tested for Gout and put on Indocid in the interum due to ankle swelling.Blood tests came back normal and have been instructed a week ago to go off Indocid 25mg??? Had a CT scan as well to ankle.Showed up small bone fragments only, maybe a previous trauma? Swelling in ankle is not letting we sleep Do not need more time off work as I am having trouble walking????? and wondering about only going back on the Indocid?Thanks for your time.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Swollen ankle with recent trauma is the pain cause. Fragments of bones on CT should be sorted out for comminuted fracture. Because if that confirmed You will need splinting likely and rest for a few weeks till a complete callus formation and bone remodeling. Walking with a stick till 6 months would be wise. Keep the limbs elevated for reduction of swelling.

Regarding gastric discomfort, your doctor may be right and it might be some bug causing stomach flu symptoms or it could be some thing related to pain killers you used like indoced, and antibiotics both staphylex and doxy. Supportive and symptomatic cure is needed here.
