No med for depression. I only feel down when I get sick at stomach which occurs about once every two or three months for about 2 dAYS. Yes depression in family history. I feel sick and throw up sometimes. I have diarrhea when I get sick to stomach. I am taking 180 diovan with hrt. Since my pulse was getting higher from 3:00 am to 7:00 am I decided to go to the ER. They did tests that came back ok. My pulse was down when I arrived in the parking lot. They explain about the heart's electrical system and said come back as soon as my pulse goes up and will not come down so they can test better. They said my Na was down a little, but didn't think this caused it. Said drink a gatoraide once in a while. I would still like to know what you think.

Brief Answer:
Could be because of anxiety/depression

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers.I have gone through them. I'll discuss your issues separately for your ease:

1. Raised pulse:
There could be three common causes behind raised pulse. First, depression/anxiety. Whenever person gets anxiety then his/her pulse starts rising which then settles down as you become calm. Second, low sodium causes decreased blood volume which in return causes raised pulse. Third, heart pathology but as your ECG turned out to be normal at the moment so it can be ruled out.

2. Diarrhea:
Stress/anxiety may increase gut motility resulting in diarrhea. Diarrhea may also occur because of maldigestion. Sometimes food does not gets properly absorbed in body and may result in diarrhea.

Conclusion:
Your symptoms could be inter-related and one common cause behind all of them is stress & depression for which you are not taking any medication. There is also family history of depression so i would strongly suggest you to consult a psychiatrist who will (after careful evaluation) prescribe antidepressants. You will feel a huge change after starting that medication. Hopefully they ill resolve all your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it. Feel free to contact me directly on HCM by visiting http://goo.gl/fxj9bG
