What Causes Stomach Upset After Taking Protinex?

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Apr 2014
Question: Hi Ma'am, Yes, this must have been posted by mistake. Not sure how. I started taking Protinex powder once since yesterday, but I am having an upset stomach since today morning. The only change in my diet was the addition of this powder. I am having loose motion and slight tummy ache (upper abdomen). Can this be a reaction to Protinex by any chance? Please do let me know. Thanks.

Brief Answer: Not necessarily. Detailed Answer: Hello Ms. Banerjee, Thanks for your feedback. Proteinex powder contains soya protein and edible gum and if you happen to be allergic to them, you could have some symptoms. Otherwise, it contains vitamins, minerals, sucrose and skimmed milk powder, none of which should cause such symptoms. In my personal experience, I have never seen anyone have any allergy to this. Yet, since we cannot deny any relation to the use of the powder, please stop using this and continue with the supplement you are already having and observe if your symptoms subside. If there is no relief, contact your consultant because it could be some gastrointestinal infection which would need treatment. Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be glad to answer. regards, Shanti.V.
