default
Posted on Mon, 6 Jul 2015
Question: I've been experiencing stress in lower back from last 2-3 months but it's manageable. Now, from last 1 months, i am feeling pain in middle back as well. This is not continuous pain, it comes and go immediately and happen in particular position when doing activities with straight hands. I've to travel to US next week and i am scared if long travel time will not aggravate this. So, can you please suggest any Muscle Relaxant or any precaution on this problem

Brief Answer:
Better to get it evaluated when you are back from travel...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You said the problem is been from last 2-3 months. Well, chronic back pain are not completely treated with few days of medicines. It needs thorough evaluation before we come to know about the cause. The causes listed can range from spine issues, ergonomics, systemic problems to disc involvements. Unless and until we have careful spine examination and radiological investigations, it will be difficult to treat it thoroughly. Therefore my suggestion is you should see a doctor as soon as you are back from travel.

Until then, you can use pain killers such as aceclofenac along with thiocolchicoside for 2-3 days to ease pain. Topical pain relieving agents such as voltragen gel and heat message will also help you.

Make sure your journey is smooth and free from bumpy rides. Also make sure you do not unnecessarily stress back by lifting heavy weights.

Hope this helped. Wish you a safe journey.

Regards
