Question : I have a strong metalic smell when breathing through my nose as well as a strong metalic taste in my mouth which has been present for about three months. This is always present and has ruined my taste for food and wine and coffee are extremely bitter and unpleasant. This condition has become worse in the last few weeks and has included some stomach discomfort.

Metallic taste in mouth could be seen in numerous conditions most common amongst are infections and zinc deficiency.

Yes, it gets aggravated with any sort of acid disturbance in the stomach.

I suggest you to take Zinc supplements on daily basis and wash your mouth with an antiseptic solution like Chlorhexidine. This will for sure will help you get rid of the metallic taste in mouth for sure.
