Question: Hello doctor
I am 33years in age and been married from 7 years as sexually active and I have been having this pricking kind of sensation in my vagina from almost a month, I drank a lot of water and it kind of reduced and I never felt it again.
But from past last night the pricking sensation has increased,it's becoming difficult from me to walk also and specially sit and during intercorse also it hurts badly. And also even if I touch my vagina over my cloths it hurts and pricks and my whole body gets a different feeling.
Around 4 years back I had taken fas kit3,can I take that again.
I also have a sticking kind of white discharge in a thick consistency.
Kindly suggest me what drug can I use.

Brief Answer:
Vaginal infection likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Strong vaginal pricky sensation with or without discharge is MOSTLY suggestive of Bacterial Vaginosis. One swab test or wet mount preparation is helpful to confirm the diagnosis. You should maintain genital hygiene properly and avoid sexual contact until problem is completely resolved.

Treatment: a) Metronidazole or Clindamycin either orally or vaginally are highly effective to treat this type condition. If you are sexually active, then your partner also needs one course of antibiotic. Kindly, consult with your gynecologist or healthcare provider for complete prescription. You can use FAS 3 kit again to have relief.

b) Use VAGISIL Odor Block Protection Wash or pH Balance wash - twice daily. Drink more water with added salt- sugar to stay hydrated. Bathing at least twice daily and maintenance of genital hygiene are mandatory. Avoid sugary products and take vitamin & anti-oxidant supplement.

c) Prebiotics and probiotics (containing Lactobacillus) are also effective to maintain NORMAL vaginal flora and prevent recurrent infection.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Cindamycin is taken as twice daily dosage of 300 mg for 5 days and metronidazole is taken thrice a day for 7 days. You can take FAS 3 kit as described in the Package insert. It is better to take all these medicines after food. It is a common infection and can be cured easily.
Hope my answer is helpful.
