Brief Answer:
Following causes to strong pulse in back of neck

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Usually, feeling a strong pulse in back of the neck is not indicating a serious problem.

Common causes include :
- physical activity (if you felt during or after physical activity )
- caffeine drink (coffee, energetic drinks, etc)
- being overweight
- taking stimulant drugs

If none of above, then further tests advised to determine the right cause :
- thyroid function test
- cardiac tests : ecg, echocardiogram, Doppler ultrasound of the blood vessels of the neck, holter monitoring
- complete blood count to rule out anemia
- biochemistry tests : lipid profile, diabetes testing, etc.

Hope it was of help!
