Question : a hemorrhage in my left eye - why? History: single bypass 3 years ago, followed by 4 ischemic strokes. Complete recovery afterwards. Also: cataract surgery in same eye 3 mos. ago. Am on Warfarin and Atorvastatin. Should I be concerned? How long to wait for it to heal? This happened in same eye two weeks ago. It healed in two days. Today is the second day and it is worse. I am 77 yrs. old, do yoga constantly, meditate, take 5-mile walks 5x/wk. I am a potter, sculptor, and pianist.

                                    Brief Answer:
Subconjunctival hemorrhage can be because of deranged PT/INR.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Yes you should be concerned,You are on Warfarin.
Please get your PT/INR test immediately.
Hemorrhage in eye can be a indicator of increased INR.
As history of same problem was there 2 weeks ago also a PT/INR should be done as early as possible.
Time of recovery depends on the cause of Hemorrhage.
Please do attach a photo of eye with follow up query.

Thanks.
