Brief Answer:
there seems to be nothing serious

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back,

I have read your description in detail and i have seen the picture closely.

Now I will give you my opinion about possible cause of the problem.

If you see closely on your tongue there are small papillary projections or granules , which we in medicine call papillae,

and in common language we call them taste buds.

These projections can get damaged by hot or spicy meals(zaatar wont cause it though) , they can also get damaged during sleep of by any minor trauma we are not aware of. Blood gathers inside the papilla after damage, outer cover of papilla doesn't let it go out.

So papilla swells a bit and blood with time gets black. So after 5-6 hours the papilla filled with blood looks like a black spot.

With time it gets ripened and them sloughs off with some rubbing force like an external wound crust on skin would slough off. Same happened here, a black spot was formed and then it sloughed off.

Rarely stomach acidity can cause ulcers and weird spots in mouth I wonder if you have stomach acidity.

In my opinion you have no reason to be anxious or worried it was a simple but rare thing which happened , and it's gone now.

So stay calm and don't think much about it.

I Hope this answers your question, if your have more queries feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it. Wish you the best of health.

Regards,

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad.
