Question: I had a confusion issue. I was in the office and I thought the visitors folder on the desk was mine even tthough it was right in front of him. I saw all his business cards and pulled them out tinking they were in my folder and XXXXXXX I must have met you before I have all your business cards. He looked at me strangely. Awkward moment.

Brief Answer:
if this happened only once ....

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your comments.
If this happened only this one time it could be that your blood sugar dropped a bit too low, if you had not eaten recently. It could also be that your blood pressure was too low for some reason.
However, there are more serious causes like a TIA ( a transient ischemic attack). TIAs are like a small stroke that completely resolves. This could be very serious and a sign that a stroke may be coming next. I suggest that you see your doctor right away, especially if you have other risks for stroke like hypertension, high cholesterol, history of smoking, family history of stroke or heart attack, or diabetes.
If this has happened more than once you should see a neurologist for a complete evaluation.
Regards,
Dr Robinson
