Prolonged ECG monitoring/Assessment for postural BP fall.

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

In the view of history of dizziness and palpitations, which are episodic in nature,I suggest that you should get evaluated for-

Please consult a cardiologist for the same.

Further,I would like to know these details to guide you well-
1)Any other disease or medical history?
2)How long does the episode of dizziness and palpitation persist.

Brief Answer:
Needs evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

In view of your clinical history, your dizziness episodes needs to be evaluated, with particular reference to-
1)Blood pressure
2)Blood sugar
3)Holter or ambulatory ECG monitoring(this is especially important, considering history of palpitations associated.ECG at a specific point of time may not show the abnormalities,so it becomes important to look for ECG changes during the event).
4)Thyroid function tests.

Lastly, if possible, please try to get yourself examined by a physician during a typical event.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.

If the emergency room looks and nothing is wrong with my ekg or ct scan and the only thing they find after that and taking urine culture and blood test and still feel the same what's wrong
doctor
Answered by Dr. Ajay Panwar (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
There is a difference between ECG and ambulatory ECG.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

UTI is unlikely to be a cause of the symptoms. As palpitations are associated with dizziness events, Holter or ambulatory ECG(instead of just plain ECG),thyroid function tests and hemogram should be done.If these tests are not done, please get them done.

Complete the UTI treatment and observe for the response.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

In that case,I suggest you to complete the treatment for UTI and observe for the improvement. The symptoms might improve.

I've been having trouble sleeping and it's so hard for me to get to sleep I close my eyes and probably go to sleep for a couple of hours but that's all and I just abruptly wake up...just sitting here I feel in my head not dizziness but off set even sitting and I don't get blurry vision but I catch my self having to squint at stuff...could my eyes be doing this to me

Answered by Dr. Ajay Panwar (7 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Probably not.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I suggest you to start doing mental relaxation exercises on a regular basis like meditation. This should improve your symptoms. This may be related to psychogenic or anxiety and probably not related to a primary eye defect.

Brief Answer:
Anxiety/cardiac rhythm disturbance

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

This episode either goes for an anxiety attack or a cardiac rhythm disturbance.ECG should be checked for during such an episode,if possible. That's the reason for which I was asking for Holter monitoring.

If you have further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
