Brief Answer:
You need just to relax and relieve your anxiety.

Detailed Answer:

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would like to explain that, as you are a normotensive individual, it may be concluded that the most probable cause of these blood pressure fluctuations is anxiety.

If these BP values do not persist and you haven't any complains, then there is nothing to worry about.

Just try to relax and relieve your anxiety!

Consult with your therapist (psychiatrist) about a possible substitute after citalopram withdrawal, or another alternative anxiety treatment (cognitive behavioral therapy, etc)

If those high blood pressure values keep persisting, then I recommend to closely monitor your BP values for a couple of days (several times daily), and consult with your attending doctor for a possible temporarily antihypertensive therapy, at least until your anxiety bouts are controlled.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of further uncertainties, feel free to ask me!

Best regards,

Dr. Iliri
