                                    Doctor,
Maybe a little swelling but not noticable, and no redness.
Not tender nor do I remember twisting or injury. No fever.
My hip area is afflicted as well as being uncomfortable to sit or lay on and the great pain in the hip area after I had walked a bit after rising yesterday morning. I feel the pain in my hip and instability and numbness in knee of same leg are related.
Thanks, XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The hip should be examined. If the examination is difficult to perform w.r.t external and internal rotation then hip involvement is likely. X rays of hip, knee and lumbosacral spine can be advised initially. If there is suspected collection then ultrasound of the affected regions should also be carried out. CRP, ESR and CBC should also be done as part of the workup.
NSAIDS like meloxicam can be used till then for the associated pain and inflammation.
Hope I have answered your query.
