What Causes Sudden Lightheadedness And A Warm Feeling?

Question: Hello, My 22 year old daughter recently fainted while shopping. She said she had lightheadedness and a warm feeling, no palpittations, no shortness of breath or chest discomfort. She sat down and passed out. She is not certain of length. She has social anxiety but said she was not anxious prior. She also had not eaten anything since previous evening, event occured around noon. This is not unusual for her not to eat breakfast. She saw her doctor a week or so after event. He did EKG, no abnormalities, blood pressure and ordered blood work. Still waiting on blood test results. No history of sudden death, her grandfather had heart attack in his 40's, grandmother died of heart attack at 72. Would you recommend further testing if blood work returns normal. AHA does not seem to recommend any need for further testing in a young adult.

Hi,

I am sorry for the situation your daughter is in.

You are reporting that she has not eaten since the other night. Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) is possible cause to passing out.

Orthostatic hypotension is to rule out too.
If I was her caring doctor would advise to run abdominal ultrasound to exclude possible pregnancy if she is sexually active.
