What Causes Sudden Muscular Spasms In The Neck?

Question: Yesterday, while not moving but typing at my desk my neck suddenly froze up. I had whiplash in 2004 but haven't had a single problem since then. But this came out of the blue and now I can't turn my head without significant discomfort.

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

This can be muscular spasm occurring due to prolonged working in a single posture.

Any history of fever, headache, vomiting, rhinitis?
Any drug intake apart from Motrin ?

You should take pain killers with muscle relaxant like Etoricoxib or Aceclofenac with Thiocholchicoside or Tizanidine.

Just try to stay rested for the time being and be vigilant for any further worsening of symptoms.
