What could cause the funny feeling be?
Your symptoms seem to be related to anxiety.
Detailed Answer:
Hello !
Thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that your symptoms doesn't seem to be related with a real cardiac disorder, as in such case those heart palpitations feelings would be associated with other obvious complaints (lightheadedness, dizziness, dyspnea, etc.)
It seems more probable for it to be caused by pure anxiety.
Nevertheless to assure that everything is OK and just an increased stress is the cause, you need to make a medical check up: physical exam, resting ECG, chest x ray and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, fasting glucose, thyroid hormone levels, etc.).
If suspicions for arhythmia are raised an ambulatory ECG monitoring is necessary.
But if everything results OK, you have to look after your anxiety. I advise you to discuss this with a specialist of this field, to find the best way to manage it.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Iliri
