Brief Answer:
I agree with your doctor ..

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I agree with you doctor that these symptoms are consistent with spider bite which include:
Rash and itching
severe stomach pain
strong muscle cramps
intense chest pain or tightness
face swelling
naseau and vomiting
headache and sweating
numbness
difficulty breathing and swallowing
seizures
Some or all of these symptoms may occur within the 48 hours following the bite.
Since your husband's symptoms were not life threatening then there is no need for the antivenin and the management will be with antibiotics and antihistaminics..
severe symptoms usually resolve within few days while milder symptoms may persist for few weeks .
The reports were not attached , so you should try to attach them again ...

Few days to few weeks

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, the spider venom can persist from few days to few weeks according to the type of the spider.
As for diet , he should stick to soft easily digested food as soup, jelly , yoghurt with honey , plain pasta , fruits. he should pay attention to keep adequetly hydrated with water , milk, fresh fruit juices.
As for the pain it should start to decrease over the following few days. he can use an analgesic as acetaminophen or ibuprofen .
