What Causes Sudden Profuse Sweating And Fatigue?

Question : Recently had a episode that was concerning. Was not active at the time and suddenly broke out in a very heavy sweat( dripping) felt as if I was about to faint, very weak. This was accompanied by a sensation similar to a sugar rush. There was no pain involved with this but energy level and weakness continued for approx. 36 hours. I originally placed blame on sugar as I had eaten two small chocolate cover pretzels, I have no history of diabetes.

I read your query and understood your concerns.

What you are reporting may be related to the following causes:
- Cardiac issues (especially heart valves and rhythm disorders)
- Metabolic disorders (including low blood sugar)
- Neurologic problems (transient ischemic attack or stroke)

If you were my patient I would recommend to go to ER to exclude life threatening situation especially stroke and cardiac issues.

Moreover I would recommend to do the following examinations to find out what is causing your symptoms:
- Blood work
- Ecg
- Cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring
- Neurological examinations including head ct scan
