Brief Answer:
Acute diverticultis

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am worried about your husbands new onset of chills and the constipation, With his prior history of diverticulitis it is possible that he has had another episode and may have a blood infection. I recommend that you take him immediately to the ER to be evaluated for possible sepsis or blood infection. If the diverticulitis cause rupture then the bacteria has entered his blood stream and this needs immediate attention
