Brief Answer:
Mostly nonspecific, but needs observation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

It often happens that the nerves that are severed during a surgery, keep on issuing such disturbing impulses and as the tissue heals, these feeling subside.

If you possibly had some internal mishap at the time of the pain, it would definitely reveal itself in the form of some discharge, abdominal distension, persistent pain, abnormal vital data etc. The fact that you do not have any of them mostly points to a non-specific pain. Yet, please report this matter to your consultant for observation and if any further management needed.

Please do not exert much and avoid prolonged standing. Avoid sexual intercourse until six weeks at least.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

Thank you, Could you please tell me is one better than the other for nerve pain, cold pac or a heating pad? And it seems the narco 5/325 really does nothing for this pain, so should I just not take it?

Brief Answer:
May not be useful.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing again.

Neither application of heat nor cold is likely to help in relieving neurological pain as any temperature extremes are likely to stimulate the nerve plexus more. In vascular pain, this is useful.

For neuralgic pains, specific drugs like Carbamazepine are available and these should be used only under the supervision of a specialist.

You may not benefit with the existing medication as the cause of the pain is not identified and is not perhaps the post-surgical pain.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please contact if you need any more help. I will be glad to do so.

regards,
Shanti.V.
